[HTC Bolt and Samsung S7] Enablement Error on Wi-Fi Calling

If you're a purchaser of one of our HTC Bolt or Samsung S7 phones, you may have noticed a rather confusing setting on your Wireless & Networks page in the phone's main Settings app for Wi-Fi Calling:

Wi-Fi Calling is a Sprint-specific function. It does not affect TextNow wifi calling at all - in fact, if you try to turn it on you'll probably get an Enablement Error and the phone will keep the setting greyed out.

This particular setting can only be used by Sprint plan customers. As our TextNow system uses an entirely different system to place and receive calls on wifi, there's no need to turn it on. Any error messages you get with regards to this feature can be safely ignored.

Hi Tiffany, If you're having trouble connecting to WiFi but you're still able to receive calls it sounds like you may be connected to a Data network which is successfully routing your calls instead. You may want to reset your WiFi router or contact your internet service provider though if you want to improve your WiFi's signal strength.

Hey Dan, Sounds like the number you're calling may just not be available at this time. If this is happening with all of your outgoing calls please email community@textnow.com so we can get additional information and assist you further.
