Incorrect Phone Number on Device

You can locate your phone number by going into TexNow and tap the button on the top left (with 3 lines) to show the pull-out menu as seen in the photo below.

Please ensure you've signed in with the same username you used to purchase or activate your device. If you are signed in to the correct account, you should not be seeing any advertisements, and be able to see your data usage as well as the Account option inside the pull out menu. If that's not the case, you should logout and login using the same TextNow account you used to purchase or activate the phone.

If you see a different phone number in the Settings application (under "About Phone"), you should not be alarmed. This phone number is used for internal purposes only, such as identifying the device on the Sprint network. You can safely ignore this phone number.

    Your friend should see your TextNow number as your caller ID when you phone her? Can you submit a ticket (by clicking the link at the top of this page - "Submit a ticket") and give us your account details as well as the number your friend sees when you call her and we can help investigate that issue?

    Currently we only support one phone number being linked to one TextNow account at the same time (i.e. we don't have a multi-line feature yet). We do support simply creating a new account for each line that you want to order. If you go through the checkout process as an existing customer, we'll ask you when you are ordering if you want the phone to replace your existing phone, or if you want to create a new line, which will take you through the new account creation process.

    My phone is displaying a different phone number then what i had assigned and it is showing my assigned number when i call and text but if i try to put it on Facebook it will not allow me to it say to use the number that is on the phone but that just i don't use....

    The number you see listed under your phone's main settings menu (often confusingly labelled My Phone Number) is what's known as a proxy number - it's a number used by Sprint to route the calls through their system. Your actual phone number is your TextNow number.

    I tried to dail the sprint proxy number and it rang to my LG phone. Is that means I can use this number too? Will I be charge extra for using it?

    The Sprint proxy number is used internally by Sprint to route your calls through their system. That number can change, as it's arbitrarily assigned to your account, and will not always connect to your TextNow phone. The number you should be giving out to your contacts is your TextNow number.

    I keep receiving calls from area code 845 (New York), which just happens to be the same area code shown for my phone in the settings area. I know no one from that area, all have been wrong #s.

    I've reset your MDN number (that's the term for the number that shows up as My Phone Number, the 845 number on your phone) and that should fix that issue for you. I've sent you an email with some modem reset instructions for your phone - please reply back to that email if you have any other questions or concerns!

    I'm sorry to hear you've decided to cancel the service with us. I'm afraid we are unable to refund your last payment. Our service is prepaid subscription based. I am showing that your plan had renewed on the 21st of December. We went ahead and refunded the difference between Venti and Tall plan ($21) as you have stated that this upgrade was done by mistake, even though this is against our policy (our policy is to apply the difference as credit to your account).
    You contacted us to cancel the service on December 30th, meaning you had used the service for 9 days. This is why we are unable to refund the payment of $18.99 for the monthly service fee.

    Sorry to see you go, and I hope you understand. Please feel free to contact us if you require any further clarification.

    I can't see if my phone is on its way and the area code is wrong on the phone

    I'm afraid I don't see any order placed under your TextNow username. You can always give us a call at Customer Support at the number below and we can help you track your order.

    With regards to the phone number, you can change the area code and number through the TextNow app itself - go to the main menu, tap on your TextNow number, and there's a button to release your number and get a new one.

    Some apps and services do not recognize TextNow numbers as mobile cell phone numbers; usually those apps and services will have a workaround for verification.

    What's a workaround and the apps and websites must not have that option available because I cannot identify or verify my device on a Sprint Network and phone number it just says "no carrier", or " Network state-disconnected" or "invalid phone number".

    You'd have to contact the app maker for a workaround. For example, with the Uber app on my TextNow phone, they asked me to verify my mobile number via email.

    my phone I just set up does not answer like a normal phone it appears it is going to texting and not the phone activated and the number on the phone is different than the textnow phone number.     @ Patrick: Our service works through the TextNow app, so if you receive a phone call and your TextNow app pops up, it's working as intended. The phone number you see in your Settings menu is a proxy number, used by Sprint to route your calls through their system. You can change the ringtone in your TextNow app, under the main menu > Settings.

    I just recieved my phone today, it will not let me send a text. And every time i go to place a call it says "call rejected" please help.

    I have a couple of suggestions for you: First, make sure you're using the TextNow app to call out on your phone. (Open the TextNow app and tap the dialpad button to make a call). Also, ensure that your app is updated to the most recent version available in the Play Store on your device.

    When I downloaded the app Line (video calling ) with my upgrade phone unfortunately I can't verify my # to log in to my line account please fix this issue as as poss ugh !!
