Moto E Hangs On "Starting Services" Page

If you're a TextNow Moto E owner and your phone is hung on a black screen with a box and a spinner in the middle of the screen that says "Starting Services", try these troubleshooting steps to solve the problem.

Note that this procedure involves a complete factory data reset of your phone, so you will lose anything that had been previously downloaded to the phone.

  1. Remove your Google account from your phone. (For instructions on how to do that, please see our article here.)
  2. Unplug your phone from any USB cable or charger it may be currently plugged into.
  3. Hold Volume Down and tap the Power Button.
  4. Use the volume keys to navigate through the menu selections.
  5. Tap volume down twice  so that it shows Recovery Mode, then press the Power Button to select it.
  6. You will see the screen that says "No command", with the Android mascot lying on his back. 
  7. Press and hold Power then tap and release Volume Up to show the menu.
  8. Use Volume Down to move to Wipe Cache Partition, and press the Power key to select it. 
  9. Use Volume Down to move to Wipe Data/Factory Reset and reset the Power key to select it.
  10. Go down to the Yes option, pressing Power one more time to initiate the factory reset.
  11. Press the Power button to select Reboot System.

    I just activated my Moto E that I received from you. It will only register incoming calls and outgoing calls do not show up on the on the other phone.

    My Moto E has been stuck on the Starting Services screen for two days now. I've tried the troubleshooting steps but anything I do results in the phone saying "OMADMClient_Sprint_Client isn't responding. Do you want to close it?". Can I just have a different phone please?

    I bought a moto e last mouth it just stopped working one day but it would ligh up but nothing will show up. I only had it for no longer then3 weeks

    Barely a month in my LG volt screen swipe gives issues. I can only take calls on the phone. I cant navigate apps, instead apps just open when i try to swipe. Im frustrated.

    My Moto e responds to whenever I screenshot or press the power button but when I hold down the power button to try to troubleshoot it does nothing for it and it continues to "start services"

    I ordered a refurbished Motorola Moto G3 about a month or so ago and it's been working amazingly until a couple days ago where it got stuck in a loop of trying to reboot itself. I haven't rooted the phone or altered it in any way. I've tried everything I can using the safe mode available, including the steps listed above in this article, but nothing's worked. I filed a ticket and was given the following message:

    "So sorry to hear about the device issues! At this point, please contact us directly so that we can confirm the issues with a few device tests. If we are unable to resolve the issues through troubleshooting, we may be able to proceed with a warranty device replacement. Please ensure to have your TextNow device fully charged for testing (if applicable), and use any other phone to reach us."

    Could I get some assistance with this please?

    I made sure my account was removed and the phone was unplugged from everything but holding the volume buttons down and tapping power does nothing
