How Do I Call Using TextNow?

 



 



Using the TextNow app, you're able to call any number in the US and Canada! Here's how it works on your mobile device:

1. Open your TextNow app and tap on the dial-pad icon in the top right-hand corner . (If you don't see the dial-pad icon, tap on the main menu button  and then tap on Conversations.) 

2. This will bring you to the Calling page. Below are the Android and iOS versions, respectively:

3. You can place a call directly from this page by typing in the ten-digit number you're calling (area code + seven digit number) and then tapping the green Call button in the bottom-center of that screen. 

4. To call a number from your Contacts, tap on the Contact icon in the bottom-right of the screen if you're using Android and the bottom-left of the screen if you're using iOS (they're the icons that look like a little person), and then tap on the contact name you'd like to call.

    No puedo llamar escojo mexico y aparece el credito de 20 pero no me deja llamar cuando Marco 52 luego aparece +1 necesitan ver mi cuenta y arreglar eso desde ayer tengo este problema me la finaliza no puedo llamar a ningun lugar!

    Hi, I can send and receive texts perfectly with the app on my LG Sunset running Android Lollipop. But I cannot make or receive phone calls with my TextNow number. I've tried clearing data and cache, restarting app, restarting phone, uninstalling and reinstalling, but I can't get it to work. Please help!

    Hi Josh,

    You will need to connect to a WIFI network for the initial activation of the phone. The activation shouldn't take long so if you can find somewhere to borrow a WIFI connection from that should work. Once activated you can use the phone off of WIFI.

    I can't call out or receive calls and I can't text says message blocking is active and call barring is on I go into sim settings and try to fix it and it says network error

    Hi Tasha,

    It looks like the account that you're currently using doesn't have an active number, so you wouldn't be able to send a text. Please log back into your account to request a new number so you can continue using the service. Please also make sure that your phone is connected to a reliable WiFi or data network.

    Hey Rubel! With our free or premium app, you can only use the service over an internet signal, whether that be Wi-Fi or your own data.

    Are you referring to our $9.99 Talk and Text Plan? This plan is for TextNow phones/ SIM cards and does not include data (for using apps and streaming videos) You can use TextNow to call and text outside of wifi on this plan.
    Our Free and Premium apps are unlimited texting and calling - but you would need wifi or your own cellular data to use them.

    I have the talk/text plan and a TextNow GSM sim and have no issues calling another number using the textnow app, but when receiving a call on the phone with the textnow sim from another mobile device, the two devices appear to start a call with no audio. It seems like they're connected and a call has started, but both people are unable to hear any each other.

    We've repeated this with several different phone numbers contacting the TextNow sim enabled phone.

    Half the time I try to make a call, it connects me to a TextNow information line instead of the number I am actually dialling. Makes no sense. Extremely frustrating
