iOS Calling Integration With Native Dialer

With the release of iOS 10, your TextNow experience just got better!

Instead of a push notification, calls over TextNow will come through on your iPhone's lock screen, making answering calls easier than ever before.

In addition, if the call is running in the background, it will now be visible on the standard green banner at the top of the phone, rather than the previous red banner:

How Can I Get The Update?

  1. Tap on the App Store on your IOS device.
  2. Tap on the Update button in the bottom right hand corner.
  3. Find TextNow on the list, and tap Update to update the app.
  4. Once the update is complete, tap Open to open your TextNow app.

You can also head on over to our Downloads page to find the latest version available for your device!

Stay tuned for more improvements to TextNow in the coming months, and thank you for choosing TextNow!

How can I turn this option off? I don't like my calls coming through the native I don't like that it shows up on my call history on my iphone. Will these show up on my phone bill then as well???? Defeats the purpose of a call app for privacy and ability to make calls when my phone number is unable such as for travel.

    Hi, Brian:

    Thanks for contacting TextNow Support!

At the moment, iOS callkit integration is built-in to the new update for TextNow, but our engineers are looking at making it a toggleable selection in a future update. Stay tuned!

The numbers do show up on your call history in your phone, but do not show up on your phone bill, as the calls are not going through your carrier but rather through the TextNow system.
