Play store error

I forgot my pass code on my phone, So i factory restarted my phone, and when i was going to re-activate it. It got to the Gmail sign in part, and every time i signed in with the correct information a messaged popped up saying, "Unfortunately. Google play services has stopped." So, it won't let me into the phone till i log in. I've tried turning the phone on and off, tried restarting it again, but the error keeps popping up so I'm no longer allowed access to my phone. Wondering if there is a fix to this issue or can i return my phone for a new one?

Thank you for contacting TextNow Support, and I'm sorry to hear about this issue!

Unfortunately, a recent update from Google has broken the PlayStore for some phones. There is a workaround in the mean time as we wait for Google to fix it. I have sent you an email with those instructions for you to try out and let us know how it goes :)

I can't even get into the phone to download or change settings....

I'm stuck on activeing the phone.
I turn on the phone
Pick my language
Agree to terms
Then type in my Gmail account
The error pops up and sends me back to the Agreed terms
Keeps saying play store stopped working. I can't get past the email log in, so I cannot get in to the phone to change anything.

Hey Megan! 

You'll need to skip the email set-up for the time being until we get this APK file properly installed on your phone. 

I'd advise retrying the steps we've emailed out, this time when it asks to sign-in to your Google (Gmail) account select "Skip" andThis should allow to continue with the set-up.  

Don't hesitate to reach out if you continue to have trouble!

What if I don't have the option to skip? I don't have a skip button anywhere. Still can't get in my phone

Hi Megan, 

Thanks for the quick reply. 

Are you stuck on the Google lock screen? This lock screen usually appears after a factory reset and is a security feature put in place by Google to ensure that the person who completed the factory reset is in fact the user of the phone. 

If this is the case we'll need to do some further investigation for you. Please let me know if this is the issue you are dealing with.

As or right now there is no work around for this. However, I certainly want to help out. I have sent off another email to you. We're going to get this resolved, no problem.

I signed up for textnow and ordered a new moto g 3rd edition.  I can't sign in to google or add accounts either.  Every time I put in my email and password, which are correct and hit "next" it says google services has stopped.  I factory reset the phone, went through everything all over again and am still having the same issue.  My phone works but apps won't since I can't sign in to google.  PLEASE HELP ME...... I clicked on new post and didn't mean this to go on another person's.  Sorry.

I have resent that email to the requested email address, and I have also taken the liberty to edit your last post to keep your email address private. You should see me email within a couple minutes, please check you spam folders as well in case it was sent there!
