You will just have to allow TextNow access to your contacts on that new device you're using. To do that please go to your phone Settings > TextNow > Contacts > turn ON to allow TextNow to access your contacts list on that device.
App can't access contacts
When I go to the textnow settings , contacts screen, when I press "access contacts" nothing happens. I have an iphone x with IOS 11.1.2. I really need to integrate my contacts.

Thanks. I tried that. When I go to textnow>settings. There is now option for contacts.
Hey William, sorry, but just to clear up any confusion, did you only go into the TextNow settings or did you go into your iPhone's own native settings?
Erin's instructions above did ask that you exit out of TextNow completely, open your iPhone's native settings app and find TextNow there. All you have to do on the settings app is scroll down until you find a list of all your apps- find TextNow and allow the necessary permissions from there
I was using Textnow for a specific group of students. It worked great until it grabbed every contact I have. I tried turning off contact permissions on my iPad but then everybody is gone. I don't want every contact in my life to show just the folks work with. How do I get it back to just my list of students as it was before?
Hi there! This is an interesting behaviour.
We don't actually store contacts in the app through a "contacts" address book type. We usually pull your contacts from your native contacts' app. You can certainly disable that permission.
But there will be no list of contacts that you can easily access, then. If you start a new conversation and start typing in a contact's name that you saved previously through the app, it should populate and allow you to message that contact accordingly.
