Update Issue

So I just downloaded the 09/06/2016 update for textnow on my ipad and when i went to load the app it prompted me to the updating screen. It states that it is updating and It may take a few mins to complete, well it's been on this screen for over 30 minutes now and it's still on 0%. Although It states not to close the app while updating I closed it out after waiting an hour despite no progress. I'm not sure what to do. I'm considering deleting the app and re-downloading it but i don't want to lose save text conversations on my app. Can some please help me?

There's no harm in deleting the app and reinstalling it, as your messages and call history are backed up to our TextNow servers. (In fact, if you log into your account here at, you should see them on your Text & Call Online page.)

On your iPad, try the following:

  1. Uninstall the TextNow app.
  2. Reboot your iPad.
  3. Reinstall TextNow from the App Store (not from a backup).
