Hi Shure0889,

I'm sorry but due to legal reasons we cannot permanently delete accounts. You're welcome to change your personal information attached to the application though, and release your number so that no one can contact you. :)

I'm sorry John, but due to legal reasons we cannot permanently delete accounts. I would suggest you change your personal information in the application. You can also release your number so that no one can contact you. :)

Hey Shure,

I'm terribly sorry, however, we cannot permanently delete accounts. You may simply remove your personal information and log out. After some time of inactivity, your number will be revoked, as well as your conversation history.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!

It's kind of stupid, that they can't delete your account permanently because of "legal" reasons

Hey Dev! We understand the frustration, however, this is due to FCC regulations, as we must be able to keep accounts in case of any possible future subpoena requests.

I assure you that once you log out of the account (or delete the app), after some time of inactivity, your number and conversations will also be recycled!

Should you have any further questions, simply contact us at orders@textnow.com

Hey Marie!

This seems to be with regards to a premium subscription, which you can simply cancel through your app! For more information, please refer here :)

Hi Daisy,

As mentioned above, we cannot permanently delete accounts as per FCC regulations, however if you'd like to stop using the service you can simply logout of your account and delete the application from any devices you had been using. If the account goes dormant, the number will be recycled and the conversation history will expire.

As our agent Erin mentioned above, we cannot permanently delete accounts as per FCC regulations. If you'd like to stop using the service, logout of your account and delete the application from any devices you're using.

When the account goes dormant, the number will be recycled and the conversation history will expire within a few days.

How do I delete my account? I have not used TextNow in 2 months yet I am still getting charged and there are no options to deactivate my account on the app

Hi Danny,

I've taken a look at your account and can see that you're using a free account, so you're not being charged for your service, nor have you ever been charged for that account.

If you have another account that has an active data plan that you'd like to cancel, you can provide that account information to us through our chat support so we can help you out with a cancellation.

Hey there,

As it was previously mentioned above, accounts cannot be permanently deleted. You can however remove any personal information from the account if you'd like and your number will expire if it remains dormant.

Hi Zach,

As you can see from previous responses, we cannot delete accounts. You can simply delete the TextNow app from your device and stop using the account if you no longer want to use it though.

Hey Hope!

We still can't delete accounts, however, I've simply logged you out of your sessions, and after some time of inactivity, both your number and conversations should be recycled by our system.

Hey there! We've actually never deleted accounts, as you can see through the thread we keep mentioning that it's not an option.

We cannot stop others from texting the number itself, though you can look into options of releasing the number following these steps

Hope that helps!

Hi Nicole,

As mentioned above, we are unable to delete accounts due to legal reasons. If you no longer want to use the account, you can simply log out from it on any device you may be using and delete the app from your device as well.
