Request to disable log in with Google using the previous email address.

Hi there,

I initially created this account by using "Log in with Google" option. Then I changed the email address in the account settings to another Gmail address. However, I can still sign in with the previous Gmail address using "Sign in with Google" option which I think should not be happening. Why was the account not unlinked from the previous Google account at the same time when the email address was changed? Once an email address is removed, it shouldn't allow "Log in with ..." using that email address because the owner of that email address could have been changed.

Thanks,

Frank W

Hey Frank!

Unfortunately, the email address information on your account and the "Google sign in" option are separate entities.

When setting up an account with the "Google sign in" option, it locks you in to that option with that Google account.

The email address and password login is a separate login method that does not communicate with the same Google route.

Hi Valeria,

Then is there no way to "Log in with Google" using the new Gmail address even after the account information has been updated with the new Gmail address? I recall that some other websites providing Google account sign in option would update Google account sign in auth whenever email address is changed such that the email address in the account info and the email address used in Google account sign in match. Since others are doing this, I think it's technically feasible.

Thanks,

Thank you for the follow-up!

As it currently stands with our service, it is not possible.
