Calling And Texting When Outside The US and Canada:
When travelling abroad, you can send and receive text messages to a Canadian or an American number through TextNow if you have wifi available. You'll only be able to call or text Canadian and US numbers, and not numbers outside the US or Canada.

Hi, So in case I want to call or text to Mexico. I just need to make sure the carrier is Telcel or a home phone (in Mexico City) and it should be free? Also, if it's another company, Do you charge me those minutes directly to my credit card or do I need to buy credits before attempting to call?

Thanks for reaching out to TextNow Wireless support. If there was a charge it would charge your account, because we are a prepaid service you would need the credits on the account ahead of time.
As long as you use the free carrier options you will be okay!
How do you text or call Germany? I have credit and tried 011 then 49 etc but no luck

It looks like Germany is +49, so you would enter that before the rest of the phone number. Alternatively you can select Germany from the drop down menu in the top right corner of the call screen. by default this is set to "US & Canada". This will automatically input the +49 for you.
It worked a few times after I added the prefix 011. The app adds +1, which is the US country code. But now it will not go through again. THis is a pain. Calling seems to work though...

Can I text from my phone while in canada?
Hi Sage! Seeing as our service is mainly supported in North America, you may certainly use your phone for texting and calling while in Canada. Simply make sure to be connected to either Wi-Fi or a data connection (if you have roaming set up)

Hey Alana, as long as you are connected to a Wi-Fi network while in Germany, you certainly can use your account to keep in touch with everyone back home :)
